Welp.... it has now been just a few minutes past when I watched my fiance drive out of my life on our first deployment.. I can not believe how excrutiatingly slow it has been going. I feel as if an eternity has passed and molasses does not even begin to describe the crawl of time this has been.
I wish I could be excited we finally hit a point, however small it may be.... but then I wake up and realize just how small this milestone is.... and wonder how the hell I'm going to hold up for a year. Obviously I will be waiting... patiently... but I don't know how sanely. I just am having such a hard time without him since he is literally my best friend and the only person I could always trust 100% with making me feel better no matter what. There is just no substitute for a big 'ol Chris bear hug... And that's just it... I don't even have a pretend substitute! God I feel so damn lonely....

I remember that first week. It was so tough. I remember laying in bed thinking "How the hell am I going to go another 7 months like this?"But I made it, and you will too. To celebrate one week down, why not go out with some friends and get some dinner and have a drink? Make a ritual out of it or something. Every friday go out with your girls to celebrate one more week closer to him being home. That way you've got something to look forward to.

Because I'm kinda new to the area... that's why I'm on here... I'm trying to get a group of "girls" going... I have a few good friends here, but they have kids or they just aren't that close to the situation and end up not being as understanding as I would think they should be..... So it makes it hard to celebrate...
I would LOVE to have like my "group" I could always fall back on ya know? Right now I'm JUST meeting people so it is rough on top of it all....

If I was back home in WA I'd be your friend. Then what about a retail therapy day every friday? That's what I did.

Stupid busy friends with their million jobs and million babies and sh*t ![]() I would do anything to not come home to..... nothing! I also feel bad just bummin it all the time at my one friend's place since she is one of said busy people and I think I am wearing out my welcome....

Why don't you get a dog or a cat? My puppy was my savior while my hubby was gone. She slept under the covers and everything.

LOL I have cats, but they want NOTHING to do with me unless I'm feeding them.... selfish brats.
I also do have a dog.... but she is like WAY tempermental when it comes to cuddling. Sometimes she will spoon the crap outta you and sometimes she gets all angry when you're in her space. Silly shelter dogs haha. I just wish I had some of my good guy friends from Cali (even the gay ones) who could just give me a good man hug. Or my ladies who would go out all the time. I am trying to not be defeatist.... but ladies in the WA area... step it up and call me... I will like hangout or run errands... anything so I don't have to sit at home huffing the B.O. out of his shirts and being lame |
