what to take when going with on deployment.. - Deployment Support Groups

so im moving to korea with the df after we get married and were tryign to get command sponsored. anyways, what all do i need to take with me over there exactly? besides clothes...

well, it sounds like he's stationed in Korea for a period of time...i'd say pack anything you need for that period of time you see yourself there....think of it like a trip kwim?

Korea isn't a deployment, it's a tour, an accompanied one if you're going with him. There are a number of women in the OCONUS forums that are currently stationed out in Korea with their husbands and could give some GREAT advice.

I visited Seoul when DB was stationed out there. It was lovely and I'm really hoping we get to go back once we're married!

As far as "stuff", he has access to a PX/commissary, so you won't need to bring much of anything "special", unlike when I moved to Europe with work and had to deal with the local products. He'll be able to get your favorite brands of food, OTC medicine, etc until you all get hitched and you get an ID card. Then you can go shopping for the stuff without him. So whatever you normally pack up to move, pack it up and go.

No worries, it gets confusing, but yeah...the girls in OCONUS are awesome.

I see he works on Black Hawks, which post is he going to? DB was at Humphrys for a while, but wound up down on K-16 for most of it.
