IA Deployments?!?!
Hi everyone! I was just wondering if there were any other SO's going through and IA deployment at the moment?! My husband just deployed with the Army (he is Navy)and I am getting through it and my girls are doing ok! I just would like to have common ground with someone who is experiencing/ has experienced it! I know bases I have been to in the past have had an IA family support group but (oddly enough) HI doesn't have one! I still have my neighbors and my friends from our last command I talk to but it feels weird trying to convey to them how this feels! Everyone keeps saying to just treat it like you would a normal deployment and I just can't seem to compare the to because they are so different (DH is a submariner when on sea duty). Add in the fact that I am slightly butt hurt about the fact that he is gone while we are supposed to be on shore duty! So if anyone else is experiencing this to I would love to have some others to talk to about this!

Hi Keri I'm Cari too! I've been through and IA feel free to pm me if you ever need to. Honestly I never used the support groups I had available. I'm sorry they don't have one. My DH's command at the time provided all the support I needed. They made sure I was taken care of. If there is an Ombudsman at your husband comand there locally I hope he or she can help.

Thank you ladies!!!
I think the hardest time of day is the time between my girls going to bed and me actually heading that way! We are holding up pretty well all things considered the only thing that seems to be lacking in our world is the cleaning Department! Because for me it is so hard to motivate myself during the day to do stuff while the girls are awake because I know as soon as I get something done and move onto the next HURRICANE Cami will come through and tear it to pieces again! But I have less than 48hours to kick my but into gear because I have friends coming to stay with me til they get housing! |
