Va Support Group Peeps - Deployment Support Groups

We need a name?? The ball is rolling and Erika(a big thank you for the help) is helping me with a few things.We are both new to this kind of thing so bear with us.

I am going to leave the sign up thread open for a few more days to give everyone a chance to sign up. We have a good start so far:

Remember anyone can start some type of event or g2g in addition to making a post about anything,even if you just want to check up on everyone to see how they are doing. Once everything is in place PM's will be sent out to everyone. The first thing we are trying to set up is a phone tree(another thank you to Erika for the great idea). As always ideas and suggestions are welcome. I have written them all down so far and we have a few great ones. I want this to be fun and helpful to everyone!

So step one, make suggestions for a group name then we will take a poll!

Is Deployments Suck supposed to be the name of the group? Personally I don't think it needs a name. VA Support Group works for me just fine.

I am just looking for ideas. Do we want a name, leave it how it is, that kind of stuff. I figured a bunch were missing the post so I did PM's

Right now we are thinking that someone can be assigned to make calls to check in on everyone to see how they are doing, child care if needed, people wanting play dates, any kind of communication needed. Erika is still working on this with the help of google

so any ideas as always are welcome.

I just feel like keeping the name that's specific to the area would be better, especially with any new people that might be registering on the board. Saying VA support group is going to grab their attention more than "deployments suck".
