It's probably not the best idea, but if you decided to go for it, you would be the coolest SO ever since it's so insane.

As others mentioned, that window of time could easily disappear. Your SO might have tons of things to accomplish as well. My DB had 9 weeks of training, a weekend off, then three more weeks and in that weekend he had to get so much done that seeing me would have added more stress and anxiety than it was worth.

I understand love and doing crazy things on a minute's notice, but driving? No way. You're definitely opening yourself up to trouble. You will be EXHAUSTED. Driving tired is almost as bad as driving drunk. I'm glad you are waiting to hear from him, but I think you have been given extremely reasonable advice that should be strongly considered in YOUR decision making.

When it is all said and done, it is YOU spending 44 hours in the car. Not your hubby.
Driving tired can be worse than driving drunk.

My answer is no, I wouldn't. I'd probably take that time and schedule an hour long skype date or something. I have to ask though, 44+ hours of driving and a hotel room for at least one or two nights would run you hundreds of dollars. Can't you take that money and put it towards a plane ticket? That doesn't eliminate the tick of him not being able to meet with you at the last minute, but it could save you a lot of time.

"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conservatively estimates that 100,000 police-reported crashes are the direct result of driver fatigue each year. This results in an estimated 1,550 deaths, 71,000 injuries, and $12.5 billion in monetary losses."

    Drowsy driving kills.
