Dh and I are back from our little vacation, and now it's time to face this deployment.

He still doesn't have a date to leave, even if he's due out there in less than 2 weeks... He's at work today and we are hoping they tell him the exact date of his flight so we can properly prepare.

Every moment feels like the last.

I try so hard to push these thoughts away.

I just need this to happen so that I can move on.

I feel sick to my stomach now for taking the time to write about this.

Preparing and thinking about it was really hard for me...especially if you started a few weeks out. You'll get through it. Just enjoy the last couple days you have with him before he leaves. I tried not to think of them that way though, because it felt like it put a lot of pressure on us and it's all we thought about. We had more fun together when we tried our best to put it in the back of our mind and just have normal days. You'll get through this.

It was really hard for me too, when we finally knew the exact date that helped. How long will he be gone?

It's just hard cause he doesn't talk about it AT ALL. Like it's not even happening. And when I get sad out of the blue I feel dumb cause he just tells me to not think about it... Why is it so easy for him

We've never been apart for longer than 3

Just because he is away, doesn't mean he cannot be apart of things. Make him apart of things. you can do this!

i know how you feel. my DB doesn't really talk about what's going on either. when I ask questions he gives me pretty short answers.

and you shouldn't feel dumb at all for being upset and sad!! It's hard to let go! he may just be dealing in a different way or be focused on what he has to do while he's gone.

i'd say just try to enjoy the time that you DO have with him. I've been cherishing every moment that DB and I have together - even if its just watching TV or getting ready in the morning.

preparation is definitely hard, but you can do it and you will come through it! and you have a lot of people going through the same sucky thing so any time you feel overwhelmed, just know that you are not alone.
