Great idea. A good friend of mines BIL was gone durning all the holdiays and it was their daughters frist so they her Mom did a week of Holidays. They had Thansgiving, Christmas, Valentines, Easter, etc. all in one week. DB is going to be gone for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas but is going to be stateside. I don't think we will celabrate any before we leave as we are running out of time plus it's just not his thing. I am going to visit at Thansgiving or just before Christmas anyway but if it was his thing and he would have liked it I would totally do it. Neat idea.

When DH left it was in April, so it was too early to do before, but during R&R (Thanksgiving) we also lumped in Christmas. It was actually a lot of fun.

We've done that in the past... just left one gift back for each of the kids, from daddy, that they could open on Christmas Eve.

We did it early one year when my brother was deployed for Christmas, tree, presents, everything.
My boyfriend and I are going to do Christmas when he gets back but don't know if we're going to go all out. I might buy a small tree for us, but I don't feel like putting a regular one up not that long after taking it down. |
