Having a really rough time...

As the days come and go, my DB's deployment date is creeping up. He's been away for pre-deployment training and it wasnt until this work-up, that i realized how fast his deployment is coming. Im literally a mess over it. It is our first deployment and I thought I'd be stronger than this....

He will be home in a week, home for about 2 weeks, then gone again for almost a month for the 2nd to last pre-deployment work up. Seems like the days are only getting harder.

I apologize if I sound like a big baby, I know there are many of you that have "been there and done that" and I have nothing but the up most respect for ya'll. I guess I'm just trying to find some comfort.....

Waiting for them to leave is the worst part. Being able to countdown til they come home is so much better!

My head is a mess right now. I forget things, I get distracted easily, I find myself daydreaming all the time, I have no grip on time and forget what day/week it is...

I'm just living in another planet right now... I feel like I'm on Pluto... I'm on a misclassified planet

It really is hard to watch the days fly by knowing that soon they will be leaving. When DH left though it was like a huge weight came off me. I realized that we had finally started the deployment, and can finally be on our way to ending it.

I agree. the sooner they leave, the sooner they get back. Try to plan something fun before he leaves (a mini-vacation, a romantic date, amusement park, whatever you guys like). Have a good time. Deployments suck all around but don't let the sadness about him leaving ruin the time he is still there.

take a lot of pictures before he leaves! i wish i had taken more. i also felt like time was speeding up and suddenly he was leaving and i was like, what? today?? but the days leading up to that through a few days after were horrible, i felt like the world was ending :-\

hang in there though. try to have fun!

That's what everyone keeps telling me...I'm told the first 2 weeks before they deploy and the 2 weeks til they come home are the hardest but I'm just an all around mess.....

We found out a little less than a year a go when he was leaving...the time really does fly by....
I didnt think id get so emotional over it
