Dh came home at lunch today to let me know that he will be deploying in Jan, as soon as his dwell time is up. I knew it was coming, but it still is sitting pretty heavy on my mind right now. I know he likes deploying (he likes doing the crazy **** and the extra money) but I really wish he didnt have to go. I know we dont have a choice though. I guess its just going to take me some time to adjust to this now that we know for 100% sure when he is going.
Anyone have tips for a remote deployment? We are used to having pretty much daily communication and we know its not going to happen this time. |

Yeah we plan to. I know how deployments work, we have survived them before, and I know there will be more in the future. Im sitting down now and trying to think of a couple things I want to accomplish while he is gone. On the plus side, it gives me a whole year to loose the baby weight and get back into my more normal shape. I guess im mainly worried about being here by myself with 3 kids under the age of 5. I'll deal with it, I just have to keep reminding myself that it all works out fine in the end.

I can't believe I'm actually accepting it. He leaves in Jan for 9 months this time. It's longer than we've been away in 12 years. We had one 13 month seperation due to west pac and school. I'm hoping that I'll survive and my kids will survive.
My coping mechanism this time.. I'm buying Disney season passes again. That way at least once a month I can run up there and we can play for a couple of hours. I'm probably going to do a certification for work so I have something to keep busy after the kids go to bed. |

Yea my hubby was just full of the "good" news when i got home from working tonight. He is now for sure leaving me in January for 6 months and his new command has also assigned him to midnight shift until he leaves! That so not fair not only is he leaving but now starting Monday he's going to be gone every night! I'm know its the military and that what happens but that doesn't change the fact that it sucks!!! So
navy!

I have known about a jan deployment for a year but we just recently found out it was a MEU (sarcastic smile). Not excited about it at ALL!!! We arent' navy and I am used to deployments to a place not an ocean. I work with a bunch of navy wives who just LOVED to fill me in on the port horror stories. They did that one on purpose because they know I worry...
I am so freakin nervous. I really dont' have a reason to be. But I just don't like it. Maybe I am just jealous of the places he gets to go visit Is it healthy to hate a boat??? I really hate hate hate this boat . OOPS I'm sorry SHIP. Dh corrects me on it all the time!! lol. If it floats and it goes on the water it is a boat. I don't care how big or small I call them all boats!! Plus I don't like the two year old twins saying "ship" it kinda sounds like something else when they say it.
