dreading this.. - Deployment Preparation

so originally, DB was supposed to be deployed in january. then it was changed to anytime between january and may. now its back to january but they just found out it could be as early as november.. im so scared

i knew it would be coming eventually i just didnt realize when i found out it would feel like this. i am soo not looking forward to this. it's our first deployment... any advice? TIA

Enjoy the time you have with him

but prepare yourself it is a rollercoaster its always well worth the wait though. I just fininshed my first deployment and me and my DF are better the ever. PM me anytime girl!

Like the other girls have said, just take advantage of the time you guys do have. Deployments are hard, but they aren't the end of the world

Enjoy the time you have left with him. When its time to deal with it, take it one day at a time. deployments are do-able

They did this with DF too. Changed his dates like a million times

well it feels like it at least. I'm not looking forward to our's either, matter of fact I'm dreading it!!!!

This is our first as well.

We're gearing up for our first and the date has been changed so many times I feel like I've been in the "he leaves so soon" stage for months... literally since March we've been told "he leaves next week" and it has continued to change.

Best advice - live in the moment. Cherish each moment. Deal with him being gone one day at a time. I'm a planner so I'm planning things for deployment that I know will make me happy, even if I'm just a little less happy because my husband isn't there with me. I know he's going to enjoy getting my postcards from all over and carepackages from different places. I also know that the time can either drag or fly - and it's all about how you look at it. Some days it really is gonna drag but time always keeps going and that will NEVER change.

Just enjoy the time you have and remember "you're gonna miss this... you're gonna want this back." Telling myself that (and singing the song) have helped me keep my cool a few times when the tensions and emotions are running high.

Hang in there - you've got an amazing support system here.
