All preggos with deploying SO's...
Hi,
I thought it would be cool to start a thread with all of us pregnant women who will be dealing with their SO's deploying...I will start: I will be about 6 months preggo when DH leaves in december , he won't be here for the birth, which i am still trying to wrap my head around...

![]() It is up in the air as to if he is going with the rest of his unit due to lack of training...but if he does go with the rest of them I will be 7-8 months pregnant when he leaves and he will have no chance of being here for the birth. This is both of our first child so it just sucks. |

Is there no chance of your DH coming home on R&R for the birth? |

I don't know if I really count. Things are really up in the air right now. DH's unit deploys out early December. My due date is Christmas Day. The commander of his company was nice enough to say she will let him deploy with the trail party. I figured that trail party would leave a week or two after main party. I was going to ask for an induction when main party leaves because it will only be 2 wks before my due date (military policy is they won't induce for any non-medical reason before 41wks4days. I have a really awesome doctor though who said he might put me in for a medical induction. I don't want to get him in trouble though.). That would give him 5-10 days to spend with me and baby. I spoke with the company commander myself today and she told me that trail party trickles out and that my husband would be here for my due date. I don't know, though, because everything gets screwed up at the battalion level, not the company level. If the brigade or battalion says he has to go, he has to go. This is DH's first deployment. I don't know how things work. All I know is that the postpartum military women in his company were told they did not have to go to Cali for pre-deployment training. Well, the command sergeant major now says they have to go. Now all the women with babies older than 6 wks but less than 6 months have to go to the Lt Col tomorrow to plead their case to stay here the entire month of Oct while the rest of the brigade is at training. I just don't know if I can trust that he will be here for the birth. If he isn't, I will be heart broken. Their unit wasn't supposed to deploy until January and it was moved up. ARGH

well my DF just left last week!! He'll be back in a couple months but we will still be up in the air on if he'll be around when baby is due. With the submarine you just never know and they spend a lot of time in the water. So we'll see!

I had my son three weeks ago--but I was preggo when my husband deployed... He got home about 2 weeks before he was born. I had to be induced and he got to spend 4 days with us before leaving again.
For all of you guys that may be alone for the birth, I will be praying for you. It's very hard and I'm not sure I coulda done it as well without him. I'm sorry for all of you. As DH says, it really depends on the chain of command, but maybe they can work something out. His first sgt was really really great and made sure he was home. Good Luck! ![]()
