Anger
Is it me or is it normal to get angry right now?
DH is getting ready to deploy, we wont even have been married for a year when he deploys and our baby boy wont be walking/talking yet and will probably learn to while he's gone. And I'm Angry. I'm flat out Pissed. And its not at anything in general, I'm just more irritable with the stupid stuff lately. ![]() Life seems to be getting harder by the day and i'm having trouble coping with it. So is this normal or am I crazy ?

I think it's completely normal. It's stuff that you knew you would have to deal with at some point, but the hypothetical is so much easier to deal with than the reality. I think you're taking it exceptionally well. I was supposed to plan our whole wedding during this deployment, but i quit. I flat out quit. We're still going to get married, but it's gunna be vegas. Our big wedding will be next summer now, so he can help. I thought I would be able to do it just fine, but once reality set in, I shut down.
So in conclusion, if you're the captain of the crazy ship, I'm your first oarsman!

Pre-deployment stress is always normal!!
I can see why it's bugging you, but there is never a good time for our loved ones to deploy. The best thing to do is try to focus on things you can control - come up with ideas to share those special moments in your little ones life (plan to take a lot of pictures, get a video camera etc.) Have a family day together - stay in your PJs, get take out, watch movies. Try to enjoy the time you have with him now. I know for me, I try not to let myself get upset. I know I would feel terrible when he left if I knew I spent the time he was home upset. It's very normal to feel the way you're feeling, just try not to let it get the best of you!

Normal. DH and I both are feeling a little bit of that with his upcoming deployment. This will one means the second birthday of DS's in a row that DH will be missing, plus the beginning of preschool and all sorts of things.

i think it's completely legit, and it's not like you're angry at him, just...everything.
i get pissed whenever someone on the news or someone random says something about us troops pulling out. i'm like, uh, really, my boyfriend was just deployed.feel free to pm me anytime. and your baby is adorable

while it is a common emotion to have during these times, i dont think its beneficial to spend your last days/weeks together angry...not necessarily at eachother, but just in general, like you said. Its difficult to let go of the feelings, i know. Do something to relieve the tension and then move on and make the best of your time together.

Yup I turned 30, and my clock ticks every now and again.

I think it is totally normal to feel anger, because it can be an emotion so close to sadness, but I really think you will regret it if you are angry (esp. not at him specifically) on your last time together. Deployments are so tough. I'm so sorry.
