Deployment advice?
I'm pretty sure this is where to post...
I am just looking for some advice and support from ladies who have been through a deployment before. DB found out he would be deploying in March this year. It was something that was COMPLETELY unexpected and threw us both for a loop! I want to be supportive, I know that I can be...we have just never been through a deployment together before, only AT and I know it will be different. I am hoping that I can come to except this deployment, I have been feeling incredibly anxious about him leaving since we heard. Is this normal? Anyways, any advice, tips or support would be great. Thanks ladies!

Why were you so surprised he was going to be deployed?
You have quite awhile till he deploys. I know it's hard but try not to think about it till it gets a little closer. Make every second count

March is still a ways a way so dont get worried and sad yet. That will only make leaving harder IMO. Enjoy the time you have together and do as much as you can together. Like the saying goes "live each day like he is deploying tomorrow". It is completely normal to feel sad and scared about the unknown. Hang in there and remember deployments are only temporary.

i agree with the other ladies... dont worry about it now. it will just stress you out! just put it out of your mind and focus on enjoying eachother now. but im curious on why is was such a huge surprise that he would be deploying?

I understand that you're feeling anxious, since you just found out and you weren't expecting it. It will probably take awhile for you to adjust to the news, but focus on the now! Plan fun stuff to do and to look forward to, you still have a lot of time!

i didn't let myself think about it until 1-2 weeks before. (except for when he first told me and i cried for like a week.) so i agree with everyone else, enjoy time with him now
