IA Questions...
I searched but didn't get much..
When going IA: Do we get fam sep pay while he is at training in TX/AZ? How long from the date of hard orders did he have til he left? Can they extend him past his EAOS? Right now they have him gone until very close to his EAOS. They can't extend him past that, right? What about his leave? Say he has 30 days of leave left? Will they send him home 30 days before his EAOS so that he can job hunt? Or will he be forced to take monetary compensation for his leave instead? I'm sure there will be more. TIA! BTW- He's an E-6, Fire Controlman. |

My DH is an FC too! Yes, you will get family sep while he is in training. Usually they will not extend past his EAOS, but anything is possible... They usually try to make sure you have time to do everything you need to before you get out... But again, you have to submit request chits for terminal leave, so it can be turned down.... If it is, you will get a pay reimbursement for a certain amount of days.... Which I think is either 30 or 60... Don't remember the exact amount of days.

My DH is a CIWS tech. Right now he is an instructor here at Great Lakes. He has been "asked" to go IA about 5 times now in the 7 months we have been here, but he has not actually been chosen yet... So no, no IA yet, but we pretty much know it is coming... But hopefully we will be able to buy a house if he does have to go! I have to look for SOMETHING good!

If the training greater than 30 days you will How long from the date of hard orders did he have til he left? WE haven't done one, so I can't answer that one. Can they extend him past his EAOS? Right now they have him gone until very close to his EAOS. They can't extend him past that, right? Yes, they can. That's what Stop Loss is. There are steps they have to take to do so, you get paid 25% more of the base pay and they have to return you to the states asap. What about his leave? Say he has 30 days of leave left?
