Deployment 4???

So, dh and I got married in May 05 and he deployed from July 05-Oct 05. Then again June 06- Oct 06. And lastly from June 07-Oct 07. So he just got back. Well he just got word today that he might be going again in April until June or so. This time will be less money because its not a combat zone. It would be Germany. Its neat because I could go visit him, but I will miss him. I am done with the military. I am torn weather I want him to go so I can go and take pictures or if I want him to stay home. Either way, if we are pregnant right now I would be due August 11th. And if he goes he will be back in July. I know its close but I am not confident about this month but its good because we will have the rest of the months before he leaves.

Now its not set in stone as of yet but its up in the air now.

That will make 4 deployments in 3 years.

we're on deployment #4 (in three years) as well!
Just think, if these girls can handle 15month deployments, we can handle multiple ones! It's just as hard, IMO!



I'd go with him if he has to go. Or maybe you can head out there for a couple of weeks, maybe half way through? At least you have the option!!

yuck! I was just talking to my husband today and told him a friend asked what was the longest period of time he was home this year. I told her 8 weeks and 6 of those 8 weeks he spent doing Chief's Induction....so he wasn't really home home.

This sea duty is taking it's toll. Additionally the tempo isn't slowing down for us either. When we move we'll have 8 straight years of it.

I felt really bad for a friend when her husband (marine) was in Afghanistan and she had his next deployment dates to Iraq before she had his homecoming dates from Afghanistan!

well I can't go there for the whole time, but if I am not pregnant or at least not to far along then I will go for as long as I can afford at the end of his trip. I just need someone to watch the dogs.

that stinks...i almost wish mine would be gone longer rather than have more deployments, cause you kinda get in a groove once he's gone (listen to me, i sound like an expert even though this is our first depl. together.) anyhoo...the hardest damn thing i've ever done in my life was watch him get on that bus, and the less amount of times i have to do that in my life, the better.

I would take 3 months multiple times any day opposed to this 15 monther I am in the middle of.I say let him go.Its not often you get to go to Germany.I lived there as a child for 5 years and it was a great experience.I dont consider Germany a deployment but I know we all have different definitions.Definately go visit when he goes.

Germany's a great place to visit. I've been there a few times and I loved it. The people are great too.

I know it's hard when you're on short-term deployments. I've been there, and while I'd rather have this than a 15 monther, I'd rather have a ship-based deployment time (6-12 mths).

We did 3 years of him being home for 6 weeks and TAD for at least 2 of those between deployments. I think that's a lot harder (at least for me) than the longer ones, and then a decent break between them. You just don't get used to them either being home or gone.

I think it would be a good experience for him. If you can afford to visit, I'd go for it, but make sure you check with your OB how close to your due date you are allowed to fly.
