My beloved is deploying in April. While my Erick has been to Iraq once already (as well as five other countries), this will be my first deployment experience with him. Any support or advice from everyone else here would be most welcomed. Thank you.

Well, the first thing I'd like to say is welcome! Second, I notice you're in the Killen TX area and I am pretty sure we have a couple other ladies there, as well. So, maybe you'll be able to do some of the get togethers!

lets seee advice from me.......Cherish EVERY minute that you can. You will thank yourself later. Really realy dont fight about the small things. You will look back and think to yourself "wow that was stupid" spend as much time as you can together. Take pictures! talk about everything that you need to talk about so you dont have to talk about it when he does call you. My husband and I did this and thank goodness! Now when he calls we are just in love and happy and miss each other. If you need anything message me

I agree, don't sweat the small things, just be happy he's home now.
When he does leave, stay busy. Go out with your friends, have weekly lunches. Once a month make a date with the girls for dinner and a movie. Anything to keep you looking forward to something new happening. It will keep you sane, I swear. |
