Has anyone's S/O been to Guantanamo? Or is currently?
My DH really hates it there.

Mine did 9months there as a sort of mp. He didn't love it but as deployments go it was a decent one to get. Granted it didn't restart his deployment time clock so that kinda sucks.
My DH is army though. If yours is navy it could be a little different for him.

Mine was there for 4 months and loved it. She did lots of SCUBA.

    Deployment time clock?
    He's in the Army reserves.
He really hates it. He has so many days off and no support. He drinks a lot and he's miserable. I think he'd rather have something to do every single day.
He has gone scuba diving and enjoyed that!
He's spending 9 months there as well.

There are other things. Boating and snorkeling and scuba diving. You could recommend him looking into community service there? My DH did that. You can get the same point value for less hours there and it could give him something a little more productive.

Like technically active duty army isn't supposed to deploy within a year and a half of return from deployment, but because it wasn't a full fledged deployment/ Hazard zone his didn't give him the year and a half home time. I don't know if it's always like that though.

Community service sounds like a good idea... Thank you. His unit is supposed to deploy every 5 years and prior to this, hasn't deployed since 2010. Hopefully it'll be another 5 years before he has to leave again!
