Hey I'm new on here!!! Fresh into the deployment. My bae has been gone for a few weeks now officially out of the states at least. This is my first deployment... his second. I just want a buddy that way we can support each other. Kinda shy...never done anything like this before. Just thought it would be best for me to get the help of those that truly understand deployment early on....

Hey All! This is also my first deployment. I dont really know what to expect. I feel kind of lost and just looking to talk to people who feel the same. Ever since my fiance left its been hard for me to get out there and meet new people considering everyday up unitl his deployment we were together. I'm trying to meet other women who are in the same situation and possibly cry, laugh, talk about our men and make friends with while out men are deployed. Its really lonely. I know everything will be okay but there is nothing like spending it with another girl in the same situation.

Hey Girls!!!
It is also my first deployment...My DB left in December for Iraq where he has been stationed for a 1 year deployment....He had his R&R in March, where we had a WONDERFUL TIME....we went to the beach in florida and spend a couple nights....and then came back home and enjoyed our time together..he left on April 4th, and has been gone since then! I have had my ups and downs, but at the moment, i'm doing pretty good!! he usually gets to call me daily, so we have been very very lucky!!! I actually got to takl to him today for an hour and 18 minutes! :O wow....anyways, I just wanted to tell you ladies that even though it don't feel possible sometimes, it is...BELIEVE ME...we are over halfway through our first deployment (his second) and i know that we can do this!! He will be coming home in december, in which is the month i graduate from nursing school, so i have something HUGE TOOO LOOK FORWARD TO!!! I'm so excited...just trying to keep myself busy....i would love to chat with some of you girls and get to know you better....PM me whenever you get a chance!!!

I'm not currently going through a deployment, but I am brand-spanking new to the whole army SO thing. My BF just enlisted in the veterinary corps reserve, and he has already been told he will be gone for a month in October and a 6 month deployment next year. Anyways, I know it is a lot worse for some of you, but I would love to chat with anyone who wants to. I am taking this pretty hard and it hasn't even happened yet. I am in south florida now but will be moving to Gainesville, FL at the end of July. PM me if you're in the area, or even if you just want to chat online!! I would love to make new friends!

Pope AF base, how far away is that from Charlotte? That's where I live..And that sounds soo familiar, like I've passed it before..I could be wrong..lol.

Hi ladies! To all of you in your first deployment, I was there not a year ago. I have been through it and made it! Survival story right here! This site is WONDERFUL!! The ladies are so supportive and caring. You should not feel alone during this time, and these ladies will be there for you.
As a deployment survivor, I can honestly say it goes quickly if you keep yourself occupied with work, school, volunteering, etc. You name it - it works wonders.
Any of you ladies can PM if you would like - we can all support each other.
DH and I are in our second deployment together, and we are bound to make it work out!
