I'm off to a BBQ tonight an hour or so away - will probably stay there overnight since I really don't want to be on campus this weekend. I just wish I was feeling a bit less nauseated - I have no desire to eat AT ALL. I'm thinking its all due to emotional upheaval this week...

Yeah I have - and next week I'm going to one down in San Diego - a picnic thrown by the spouses/families of DB's squadron. The ombudsman passed the invite on to me so I'm going to go down.

You are having a lot of fun. Are things getting better?

I think so. I'm still really sad about my friends' baby. I spoke with the grandmother - my mom's dearest friend - today and apparently my two friends are simply heartbroken. And I can't be there and wish I could. I'm 2200 miles away from my family and my home and sometimes I just get homesick and miss being there to support them.

Being helpless is the worst feeling, I hate it and can't stand it. Keep them in your prayers and they will feel your kindness and concern for them.
