    Cute doll or Racist?

    HUGE debate on one of my crochet FB pages. Makes me sad. I see black face as history. Many on my fb page see this as racist. What do you think?

    In the US, that definitely crosses a line, IMO. Somewhere without a history of blackface/slavery? - maybe fine.

    I found this article showing that in London it wasn't created for racial purposes it was very innocent but was turned derogatory and became the face of racism and racial tension. I doubt the creator expected it to turn into this but it did.
