    Confused Duggar kids and AR15

    Advertisements

This photo is on Josh Duggar's Twitter. Forget that it's Duggar, I think the controversy should be why does any soldier let a civilian handle his weapon???

(Short version because I am on Kindle.)

I agree don't care who it is, Duggar or Joe Blow from no where shouldn't be handling that.

Depends on the situation and the weapons status.

There are events here all the time where the military brings out different (unloaded) weapons and lets kids 'try' them (look through the sights and pull the trigger in a controlled setting)

Is it loaded? If not, I don't see a problem. No one's hand is on the trigger. It's clearly some kind of event because there are revolutionary dressed soldiers in the background.

ETA: DH says the soldiers in the background are old guard, chances are the one in the ACU is too. They're all entertainment. They were probably there with their guns specifically to let people hold them and look at them etc. I think the knee jerk reaction to 'scary guns' need to stop.

True. They would let us hold a weapon and pose for pics at the air show

We had an airshow at McEntire that had an area where they showed you how to hold rifles and all that. No idea where they are though, so that would sway my opinion.
Never do anything halfway unless you want to be half happy.

Is this a dream? If it is, please don't wake me from this high. I'd become comfortably numb
until you opened up my eyes to what it's like when everything is right...I can't believe you found me ♥

After some googling, they were at an Army Fife and Drum event in VA, and from the other photos, it looks like people can interact/pose with everyone.

At the air show on Offutt, you can hold pick up, take pictures with guns...so I'm going to assume it's empty/not loaded, etc.
