Wedding party
What do you think is a reasonable amount of money to ask a bridesmaid to spend on the bridesmaid's dress?
Just curious. I'm in my SIL's wedding and I balked at the price tag.

It depends on your friends. I mean, if I was friends with a bunch of millionaires it would be different than a bunch of starving college students
![]() For me, our bridesmaid dresses are going to be less than 150, and I'll pitch in some of the price if thats too much for them, but I can't afford to buy them all with my budget. Same thing with travel arrangements. |

I'm only having a MOH and I'm paying for her dress. It's around a $100. Honestly, I can't imagine having a bridesmaid pay for her dress if she had to pay for travel accomodations as well. The most I would want someone to pay is around $60 for a dress anymore than that I'd pitch in.

I let the girls choose their own dress..just told them the color..so it was up to them however much they wanted to spend. Plus, I wanted the diff variations for the bridesmaids

Ousr were about 250-275ish. They accepted the responsibilty and honor of being a BM and they had a year to save up. I think 300 is good stopping point.

I'm letting them select the dress it just has to be one of the colors we're using. Even so I'm going to try and pitch in 50 for each of them. I wouldn't want them having to spend more then 100, they're all poor college kids and it's hard enough, I don't want me asking them to be in my wedding to cause any burden on them financially!
Then again I'm only giving them 7 weeks notice so it's not like I'm giving them a ton of time to shop.
