Experimental Theology: The bait and switch of contemporary christianity
I'm not really sure where this should go so I'm posting it here. I think this is very thought-provoking and I think he makes a very good point. What are your thoughts?

I'm thinking that this probably should have gone in the debate section of the boards... I'm fairly certain this will get fairly heated.

i actually really agree with the story
To me, the idea of "christianity" has been lost, and has become more so about religion than a spiritual relationship.

Yes. I stopped going to church because I got so caught up in the religious acts and forgot about my spirituality. I feel like I've become a better person since I've stopped going. I am not saying church isn't beneficial, but I definitely needed a break to gain some perspective on myself.

To me it appears to be an attack on Christianity veiled under a repeated claim of exaggeration. We all should be nicer to each other on a daily basis, but that has little to do with people's journey to be closer with our Lord. The author describes the modern day society that many resent, but paints it with a brush to single out Christians. Everyone needs to be kinder, not just people who are close to God. I think many like to take aim at Christians because we are supposed to be so "good" if we are true Christians. Yeah, sure, except that it is a journey. You don't say, "I'm a Christian" and all of a sudden you are perfect. Quite the opposite, the Bible teaches us we are not perfect.
