Cheating - to tell or not to tell?

There have been lots of threads on here with a people asking if they should tell person A that person B is cheating when they has discovered it. Most people have said that if it were them that they'd want to know, but then some of those same people say to stay out of the situation because its none of their business. I was just wondering if there were any opinions on this. Like are there some situations were you would intervene and say something and others where you wouldn't? And if so, why/why not? (I'm putting this in debates just in case it gets heated.)

If I know the person that is being cheated on well enough, then I would tell them. If I don't know that person that well or just met them, I would probably hold my tongue... for a little bit. I would definitely try to get to know them so I could spill the beans. No sense in letting people get hurt when they don't have to.

it really depends on the people involved. some of J and I's close friends..if they came to either one of us and said they were cheating on their SO, we'd still befriend them, listen, whatever, but expect them to have the decency to tell their SO and if they dont, we will. If theyre that good of friends, Id expect them to do the same if the roles were reversed.

otherwise...i'd stay out of it. and wouldnt want to hear any more details.

There are times when I would get involved. I think if I was to though, I would tell the person doing it IF they don't tell the victim, than I will. Thats what I would do. But it would also depend on the situation.

If ANYONE at all knew the Dh cheated on me I would want to know. IDC if it's an ex db, or someone I hardly know, or a close friend. I would want to know, no matter what. Even if i wasn't sure if i could believe them, i would take it with a grain of salt and look into it.

Because of how I feel about it, I would always tell. I might add "I think" or "I could be wrong but . . ." but regardless i would atleast tell them what I saw, heard, and let them figure it out for themself.

I would only pass on something i knew as fact though, not gossip that might not be true.

The only person that I would tell if I knew their SO cheated on them are my sisters and my bff. Otherwise, I think it's best to stay out of it.

If it was one of my really close friends and i was sure that something was going on then yes i would tell them. For anyone else, it really isn't my place to say anything, if there isn't anything going on then it could create a ton of problems and if there is then you will be involved in it.

If I knew for an absolute fact that person A was cheating on person B I would have a very hard time NOT telling person B. I would want to be told if my DH was cheating on me. It would eat at me NOT to tell the person. Such a hard situation to be in the middle of.

If I am super close with the person being cheated on and I have concrete evidence to verify that the cheating is occurring, I'm willing to open my mouth. Otherwise (casual friend or acquaintance, no concrete proof), I prefer to mind my own business. It's not my role to stick my nose where it doesn't belong.

If my husband cheated on me I would want to know. SO yes, I would tell.
