It would depend what area we were living in. If I am in small town suburbia it would be probably at about 10. My sister was hit by a mail truck when she was 7 going to get milk and she had to cross one busy street. That I guess skews my opinion a little.
If we were in a bigger city it would probably be later, maybe at like 12 or 13.

There are too many variables for me to take the poll. It would depend on where I am going, the area I live in, the maturity of the child...
I was home alone for a bit before school because the bus came after mom had to leave for work in 2nd and 3rd grade. Mom NEVER would have done that with my brother though at the same age because he would have been lost. |

What exactly are you meaning? We live in an apartment and I leave my 2 year old to watch me out the window when I take the dogs potty if the weather is bad. He can see me if he needs to.
As for going more than 50 feet from my apartment, then not for quite a while.
