baby cereal in the bottle..? S/O sorta..
What are your feelings on this? I mean, there's always exceptions to the rule, such as acid reflux where the child actually "benefits" from it, but I'm saying in situations of the mother feels that the child is "overeating" or something of the like.
I'm talking about infants that aren't old enough to take the cereal from a spoon.. Discuss.

Reese was a preemie he couldn't hold down just liquid which lead us to putting cereal in his bottle. He also got really constipated so he also had prune juice in his bottle (after everything was tried other than prunes
)I think mothers know their children better than anyone and if you think your child is hungry then a little cereal isn't going to hurt them. Of course consult your doctor..but the mother will always know whats best. I'd never tell another parents what to do with their child. |

My daughter needed it because she was a preemie. It was recommened by her pedi, her nutritionist, and my mama. She never had problems with it and as long as the child doesn't suffer any adverse reactions and parents are working in conjunction with the doctor/nutritionist, I don't see the issue. This is one of those situations were people need to worry about their own children and what's right for them and not worrying about someone elses'.

My son had cereal in a bottle and it wasnt doctor recommended. I did it because everyone in my family has done and it no one has issues from it.
If all you got to drink was enfamil you would want some substinance in your bottle to lol. My son slept all night and we never had a screaming baby because he was full. I went by mother's instinct and it worked best for my son. He is a healthy 5 year old today. I don't need a bunch of books or anything to help me parent . (Personal Opinion) |

They only know what you give them so they don't know if they want "substance" in their bottle or not.. all they know is the liquid(formula).

Thats all good and well but Im a realistic person and if I have a baby who is crying and there is medically nothing wrong with him and he is clean changed, the next thing Im gonna move onto is food and if he is hungry and I add a little cereal to his bottle and he sleeps better and is not whiny then im gonna stick to that. Yeah books and articles are ok but half the time they are not even written by everyday people with kids. My grandmother had 8 darn kids and each everyone of them had cereal there fine and not obese. To each his own if you (you meaning generally speaking) wanna feed your baby formula all day every 6 hrs or whatever thats fine but alittle cereal isn't gonna kill them. |
