What do you think dreams mean?

I put this in debates just because many people have many different opinions on what dreams mean. I have been having some crazy dreams lately, very out of the ordinary for me! So what do you think our dreams are telling us? If anything at all?

I think sometimes dreams can be feelings that you choose not to act on-repressed thoughts.

I believe the sub concious mind picks up everything from feelings to sensory things around you during the day. To sort out this information and keep us from going mad we dream to clean out the cache. I think emotions that are persistant also haunt our sub concicous. Dreams are a cumilation of these things.

I think it can reveal things that are bothering you or that you think about a lot but how to interpret I am not sure that anyone can tell . As has been said ...sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

    Teeth falling out = insecurities

Dreams for me is a way for your subconcious to fulfill your concious needs. It helps keeps us sane. It could also be electrical impulses in your brain and you're dreams is a way of interpreting these electronic impulse. Even in psychology different experts have different explanations of what your dreams mean. That's the thing with psychology.. everything is just a theory.

Are dreams tell us a lot. Thats why its important to do deeper research and figure out what they are really saying Most dreams mean something entirely different then what people think they do.

Look at it like this: Our brain is capable of conceiving ideas like the holocaust. It's also capable of conceiving ideas like the written word. It's capable of thinking up alien attacks, Atlantis, the Loch Ness monster, The Ilyiad, Exodus, DVD Movies and quantum mechanics. Our brain is indeed a very scary critter.

And when we sleep, we turn off ALL the things that keep it occupied during the day.

Our brain works out the things in our memory that we feel need to be addressed (by thinking about it, fretting over it, etc...) by removing ALL sense of realism. The brain is NOT constrained by physics, gravity, human contact, etc.. when solving it's problems. This is why our dreams seem SOOO random, but can be likened to a problem we're having.
