    Exclamation Death Row.

I just finished reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and one of the quotes in there was extremely thought provoking.

There is only one guy in the whole Bible Jesus ever personally promised a place with him in Paradise. Not Peter, not Paul, not any of those guys. He was a convicted thief, being executed. So don't knock the guys on death row. Maybe they know something you don't.
BTW, it's an amazing book. I highly recommend it.

What do you think/feel of this quote?

I just think it proves that Christianity is suppose to be about forgiveness and realizing when you have harmed others and when you've wronged, not about NEVER EVER doing anything wrong EVER or you won't go to heaven.

In todays society people who steal don't usually get the death penalty. If it was a murderer I believe Jesus would have a different opinion. That's why murder is a mortal sin.

I'm not sure if there is so much as something to debate, but it's a "heated" topic (both death row and someone on death row going to Heaven) and she put it here in case someone got upset by it, maybe?

While all that is true, the overall point of it still stands, in my eyes.

The guy obviously did something wrong if he is to be killed, but he has shown remorse for his actions and accepted Jesus and his savior and is therefore going to Heaven.

It's a strong statement about forgiveness. At least that is what I got from it.

Forgiveness is possible if a certain price is paid, at least thats the mindset I think. I dunno...if someone killed someone that I loved dearly, I don't know if wanted to see them dead, I don't know if that would earn my forgiveness or God's really.

Can you earn paradise through sacrifice after taking a life? Who knows?

    I just don't know...
