    Question why can't

    Advertisements
people in debates use religion as their reason for not believing and that be a "good enough answer" for for someone? Some some religion plays a major role in the decision making process and in their beliefs. Is that so wrong? Just because one person doesn't believe in God and the Bible why can't someone else use God and the Bible as an excuse to not support something and people not nit pick them?

Not really sometimes they are based off of opinion.

Hmmm... this'll be a touchy subject, I think.

I think it's because it hasn't been scientifically proven, so it lacks validity. Those who don't believe won't take "faith" as a good enough answer.

Don't jump on me, I'm answering the question.

Religion and faith to some are very heated, and very touchy.

I think this is it, also because some religious beliefs could be seen as discriminatory.

Debates are based on facts AND beliefs - whichever is more prevalent to the subject.

some things simply cannot be debated with religious beliefs - like "the earth is flat VS the earth being round" . . at one point it was wrapepd up in religious beliefs taht the earth was flat, but it's been quite proven that the earth is very round ... thus nulling the 'opinion' factor completely.

However - when it comes to "how to raise your kids" ... then it's purely a personal-opinion subject where the scientific or 'hardcore facts' are so varied, spread out or not at all that - that it truely, is, centered around personal experiences and parental preferences, etc ... in which religious beliefs are very much so an important part for many.

It just depends on what your'e talking about and what angle you're taking.
