Should SINGLE people be allowed to adopt, provided they are financially stable and in a good place to have children?

On a similar note, should single people be allowed to have in-vitro?

    Yes for singles.

I know before DH I was considering adopting and my options were limited due to the fact that I was single. Even considered in-vitro and found very little support for it as I do not have fertility problems.

As long as they can financially support it, then yes, absolutely.

Absolutely. As I said in the other thread... no child needs to live with people of both sexes to have role models of both sexes be a big part of their life.

Yes. My mom raised me alone and I turned out great.

I do not think a person should be disqualified based on marital status.

I agree. This begs this question: should a gay single person be able to adopt, if he or she was planning to raise the baby alone?

I use to say no to this until I met someone who WANTED to be a mother to older kids - had an awesome job, was an all around great person, but didn't qualify because this state recently passed a law banning anyone who's not in a "marriage" from adopting.

    Ticks me off, actually.
