    Question S/O of Tipping

    Advertisements
Where are some places you tip, that you have found it's not common to do so?!? (forgive me if that doesn't make sense. It's 2:14am my time...LOL!!!)

I've heard/read people tip at Sonic. I can't justify tipping at Sonic. To me, that's like tipping the person at McD's who brings out my food because I ordered something that took longer than normal to cook...lol!

I tip at Sonic. They bring you your food, condiments, anything you request. I don't tip 20% or anything, but I always give at least an extra buck there.

I can't really think of any unusual places that I tip..I tip the hair stylist, the nail person, the pizza guy, the waiter/waitress, and the carry-out guy at the Commissary. And Sonic. lol

I tip at Sonic... but I am a tipper in general... I was on the serving end of things and that's the only way I paid my bills.. it certainly wasn't from my $4.25 an hour wages!

I tip them a few bucks though, not 20% or anything.

Also, at the Sonic here, at least in Anaheim, there is a drive-through too, so I go through that if I don't have cash or just want something quick.

Some people dont' tip for coffees, but I always do.

I also tip when someone brings something big/heavy out to my car.

    I tip the paperboy/person/whatever.

I tip A lot at the bar too, always $1 a drink with a "bonus" at the end. But I really go to the bar maybe once a year now? Just from my past as a bartender I suppose!

It SHOULDN'T be unusual IMO, but I've noticed I'm almost always the only one to tip shuttle drivers at the airport.

Years ago, my grandmother used to tip postal workers and bus drivers. I am not sure if this was ethical or not, but she always gave them tips in disguise as gifts.

HA! I didn't even give our last shuttle driver a tip....

He was a complete ignorant RACIST! I couldn't believe what my ears were hearing during the LONG 15 mins to the airport...

We do this too, but just at the end of the year/holiday. My hubby worked on a paper route for a bit and since then, we have always done it for the postal man and newspaper guy. But the postal man is just yearly... paper is monthly.

Bus driver goes along with teacher/therapist/babysitter/daycare and gets a gift during the holidays too.
