How Old Were You When You First had Sex?

First I'll say that there is no reason to "out" yourself unless you don't mind. The poll is anonymous!

So how old were you when you had sex? Was it how you always wanted it to be or at the "right" age?

My hypothesis is that most of us had sex earlier than we would like our children to. I know that hindsite is 20/20 so I am sure a lot of us would change the specifics of our first time. But I wonder if we are a bit irrational to expect that our children will wait later than we want them to & overcome what we did not? Especially in this day & age were our society is so much more sexualied. Highly sexualized, in fact!

I'm not saying that we shouldn't try to sway our children from waiting but do you think it is likely they will become sexually active sooner than we did?

Of course I could be totally wrong & the majority here be virgins until your wedding night....in which, my thoughts would be totally blown out of the water!

I was 19 when I first had sex. I am fine with the age but not who I slept with & I would definately change that if I could.

I do hope that my children will wait until they are atleast 18 & they will be taught that it is best to wait.

I hav eno problem outing myself.

I did not LOSE my virginity willingly until I was 17. It was taken at 14.

Was it anything I thought was going to be. Hell No. During the time I was 14 to 17, I had misconstuded views on what sex was and could be. I got lost in the rollercoaster way of a wayward hurt teen life style.

Do I expect Anya to wait until she is married. No Im realistic. I know 9 out of 10 it will happen before then. I can only continue to be open and free with her about my life and struggles so that she will understand why it is important to hold on as long as she can. To protect herself and not allow herself to be put into situations like I did where it can be taken.

If she does choose to have sex during high school, I can only hope and pray that I have done my job as a parent and that she will come to me openly about it.
