i love the navy! it has taken care of us for 5 years now. yes it has taken Joe away 3 years of that but i joke saying if he was not deployed we might not have lasted!
it has its ups and downs, but i think that is what makes us who we are.

I love the navy life. Im a very independent person, so him going away isn't to hard on me, i call them my vacations. I wouldn't enlist myself, but i support my husband when he wants to re-enlist.

Do I "like" the Navy? No, not really. There are some good benefits, and you have the opportunity to travel usually, but for me that's about it. I can't wait for my DH to get out of the Navy. *only 9 months left*
I don't think you can ever get used to your SO leaving. I think you learn to "adapt" better once you have experienced it a few times. You know what to expect and have a better understanding of what goes on. But as far as it getting easier...I would definitely say NO it doesn't. |

My SO is in the Army. Its given him a lot of a headaches, but when they actually let him do his job, he will be very happy. I support the choice he made in joining, but its difficult. I am very proud of him, and if he decided to re-enlist, I would support him because thats what he wants to do. Would I like it? Probably not. I like stability. And the Military does not really offer that so much.
Its givin Tim a chance to be able to pay off his car, live on his own. Travel. Experience things he wouldnt if he was still here in Gainesville. I to am a very independent person. But then I met Tim. I fell in love. I hate having him gone. But it does get some what easier. I dont think you really ever get used to having them gone so much. But it does get easier. |

I hate the deployments but I'm proud of the job my husband does. Being in the Navy allows me to be a SAHM while our boys are young. It's giving us the opportunity to see the world (PSCing to different parts of the world). And it offers great job security!
The pay can be crappy, the hours are crappy but I think the experience is one of a kind! |

I LOVE what the Navy is and stands for, I hate what people make of the Navy and how they can make something so great be so trivial.

So far it has been good to us. I think the benefits are good and dh gets paid enough for me to stay at home with our 3 kids.
