    Extended Breastfeeding and Puberty

    Advertisements
The video of the 8 year old breastfeeding made me think...children, girls specifically, are maturing earlier and earlier.

Do you cut your female child off from breastfeeding regardless once she starts showing signs of puberty? Or do you still let her self-wean?

I'm sorry... I was a bfing mama... however once my children could form a sentence to speak to me or verbally ASK me for a drink... they were DONE DONE DONE.

Eight years old! Please that's no longer for the benefit of the child, that's to fulfill some disgusting sexual exploration of the mother.

my child won't be breastfeeding past a year.

    [& that's the absolute max]

there's a chance i may start him/her on formula earlier, especially if just my milk isn't filling them up enough.

I mean some girls are forming breasts and starting periods at 8 now. So do you still breastfeed if those things come up?

BTW, I'm not saying this is the case in the Youtube video from the other thread. It just raised the thought in my head.

At 8 years of age they should be drinking from a cup. Once they can hold a cup and drink without spilling, then no more bottle, no more boob. 1 yr is a max for the boob anyway for me.
