    Men vs. War

    Advertisements
So I was watching Home Improvement last night and Randy had written and paper for Brad. The opening line was something like:

"Does war bring out the worst in men or is it the worst in men that bring on war?"

    Thoughts?

I think one leads to the other. Most times it's the worst in men that bring on war and then war brings out the worst in men.

Yeah, I agree with this. War doesn't just happen, people start them. After they are started they can bring out the worst in people. It is war, after all.

I personally think that greed, grandeur, power and religion bring on war. The worst of men, although I dont' think you can constitute religion in that. Can you? It does start a lot of wars, that and territorial expansion.

If you are in battle then you are in one of the most primitive regions of your brain, something that is commonplace in all species, and that is to survive.

Survival and the need to survive brings out the worst in men.

Human nature is a little more difficult to define than that. If world peace were declared and every single person on the planet followed a peaceful doctrine, there would still be conflict. The hippy generations in America showed us that, when everyone is living a certain way that is conducive to the economic growth of the country, people will challenge the norm if it doesn't fit their beliefs.

World peace is a fallacy, war is a negotiating tool and mankind will always find new ways to kill each other. We don't need a war to see how depraved people can be.
