You know - NOT talking about the way they choose to live or what they believe. JUST the way they dress and wear their hair.

What is so wrong with this Tx Polygamy group looking old-fashioned?
A lot of people have mentioned this in a "OMG, did you see their clothes?" ... as if their clothes mean anything.


What's wrong with their clothes? Old fashioned, sure.
Since when did Old-fashioned become a horrible thing? Since when did dressing different become an issue in this country?

Of all places - in THIS country - one of the most liberal and mixed cultural parties in the world.

Come on - don't be *that* stuck up. It's just clothes for pete's sake! JUST CLOTHES.

I like their look, in fact, and I use to dress just like that...Whoopie - I also have a huge collection of Middle-Age atire and Middle-Eastern wear, as well.

Any time we/people see someone or in this case a group of people looking an dressing different there's gonna be something wrong with them..It doesnt even necessarily mean there's REALLY something wrong but its just something wrong in our eyes because it's DIFFERENT..

I ran into a bunch of super conservative Mormons as I stopped over in Utah on my way out to AZ... they were dressed similarly to that... but they were otherwise very modern-era oriented, their kids were clean, they did not condone polygamy, and they explained that it's just about being modest. I've had a very similar conversation with a group of Amish I met in PA.

They were very nice. I think people judging religious groups on the basis of trivial things like clothing... need to get over themselves.
Now, if you want to judge on the basis of child abuse and child sexual abuse, that's different.
