    Religion on TV....

    Advertisements
In some locations, TV networks use warning systems to flag sexual, violent and profane content in programs so parents can better protect children.

Do you think similar warnings should exist for religious content?

    Discuss.

    Yup, depending on the content.

Wow, I've actually never thought about that. You definately bring up a valid point. I guess I have to think about this one for awhile! But I do not think it would be wrong to label such content in order for parents to be aware of what their children might be exposed to (especially so that the parents can be prepared to answer any questions the children may have).

That's a good idea for overt religious content. Probably not necessary for something like The Chronicles of Narnia but I think a parental warning on Vegetals, etc. would be useful.

Yes I do think they should. People should be able to teach their kids about their own religion just like they should be teaching them about sex, not TV. I don't care for religious content because we don't teach it.

Absolutely. I think a parent should have just as much, if not more, control over what religious influences their child is exposed to.

I think it definitely should be flagged. We are teaching DD about religions ourselves and really don't need to have her exposed to that kind of stuff. I would even go so far as to have religious channels blocked from DD viewing.

I think so too, just because I would like to know!!! Sometimes even if you watch the show you don't realize unless you are watching it very closely!!!
