Disclaimer: I REALISE THIS IS ABOUT A WEEK OLD. I WAS JUST CATCHING UP ON MY O'REILLY NEWS THIS EVENING

O'Reilly surprised "there was no difference" between Harlem restaurant and other New York restaurants
Summary: Discussing his recent dinner with Rev. Al Sharpton at the Harlem restaurant Sylvia's, Bill O'Reilly reported that he "couldn't get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia's restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it's run by blacks, primarily black patronship." O'Reilly added: "There wasn't one person in Sylvia's who was screaming, 'M-Fer, I want more iced tea.' "
this is like a bad movie, and i'd give it a 5 on my netflix

lmao. I dont think he is racist I think he just tells it like he sees it. And when he does that of course not everyone will agree with him and some will call him racist

well, I think saying you thought a restaurant owned by black people would include patrons saying "m-fer I want more iced tea" is RACIST

In all honesty I dont watch or follow o'reilly at all. I am sure he could use more tact in things he says based on what i have read posted here.

I saw the story on CNN and I was shocked at some of the things he said. I don't see how it could be taken as anything other than racism - he expected the venue to conform to his stereotypical beliefs and was very surprised to find that that in fact the place was more like its 'white' competitors.

I know. He later tried to say he was taken out of context. No he was not, there is really no other way to take that.

I do not see how that is at all related.

If I walked into a restaurant and said "wow, no one is swearing, I am shocked" because it was owned by a black person, I would probably be called a racist. Because that is racism.
