    Advertisements
Ok, I bought a pot roast the other day and I want to cook it in the crockpot but I am not sure how much water to put in and if I need to add beef boulion?

When I do mine I add the roast, then some potatoes and carrots sliced up. In a measuring cup I put a packet of lipton onion soup mix and 2 cups of water. I mix it together and pour it over. Then cook it on med for 6-8 hours. The very last half an hour I take half a cup of water and 2 tablespoons of flour and mix together and pour that in and stir well to thicken the juice up just a tad.

Adding beef boullion is a good idea. Or any seasonings you like. My SO lives by Seasoning Salt. I like to put cut potatoes, carrots, celery and anyother veggie i have in there too. As for water, put (depending on your crock pot size) something like a cup or two of water in the bottom.
    Here are some recipes

    Hope this helps!

I use either bullioion and water or beef gravy. Whatever I happen to have. I put enough in to about halfway cover the roast. I add onions, pressed garlic, mushrooms, carrots and potatos then slow cook it all day. It is so good.
