I am making chili tonight and I was wondering... can you let it sit on low for to long? I mean if it says 3 hours is 4 or even 5 hours to long? I am unsure of when DH will be home so I don't know when we will be eating.
Thank You

I cook my chili on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4.

I worried about this too. I couldn't taste it (I don't eat red meat) so I just kept smelling it. We had a bunch of people over that night and they loved it. It had cooked on low for about 8 hours. I wouldn't worry too much.

It can never be too long... the longer the better! I start it first thing in the morning and let it go for atleast 8 hours.
