Chili Cooking in My Crock Pot
I'm making my first crock pot meal ever! I'm a 'virgin' crock pot user. So, for its debut meal, I tried the chili recipe posted here, and I instructed everyone not to turn it off Low even if they leave the house, nor to raise the lid under any circumstance. My dad will probably panic and shut it off anyways. Egads! Wish me luck. If it turns out, half goes into the freezer to await my gorgeous DB's Xmas arrival. Yeah! I feel very domestic and organized today for doing this.

Thanks all for your replies! I had to log off and leave for a while. I was happy to see your posts.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who gets a little elated at the idea of cooking something in that thing. I think what I feel is proud. Like I'm being a good mommy in the kitchen. I know I won't resort to something less healthy for my kids if I've got this going on. My DB already thinks I'm a goddess - domestic and otherwise, but if he saw some of my pathetic or non existent dinners some nights, he'd cringe. Anyways, I'm super excited to see if I get this dish tonight right. Later this week, I'm trying the beef stew, and after that the "Italian" Chicken. All recipes I happily found here. |
