    Ikea bed slats!!

    Advertisements
Who has a bed from Ikea? I am pretty much sold on the Malm. I only have one concern. I am reading lots of reviews saying that the bed slats come off. The baby sleeps on our bed, so obviously this is a concern for me. Who has a bed from Ikea? Ever had this problem? Would you feel safe putting an infant on your bed?

I had an Ikea Bed... never had that problem to be honest. Only thing is they are quite low - thats why we got rid of ours, it was too low for DH and he got a sore back from it.

Well... I've had two Ikea beds. My stepson's 1st twin size bed had those slats & eventually they started to slide off creating a dip in the mattress. It was really annoying! BUT the full size bed I had with them has still not had a problem & I have had that one for a long time. Not sure if that helps much LOL.

I am mostly worried about him getting injured on the bed somehow. As long as it isn't going to fall all to pieces and hurt someone, then I think we can deal. I was thinking my FIL could probably think of some way to fix the slats to the bed permanently if they start slipping.

I have a bed form Ikea!
Never had a problem with it.Once the mattress is in they do not slip.
But yes, the beds are for the most part very low.
    Good luck!

I don't have that exact ikea bed. I have a different model but I can't remember what its called...
    Anyway....funny story about slats...

When I first got this bed, I didnt get the slats because technically they are 'optional' and it was just another thing to carry. Soooo after a few months of having my bed the x-frame supporting the mattress broke at a very inopportune time
    It was super embarressing!!!

Moral of the story - get the slats! Otherwise your mattress could fall through the frame.
