FRG Theme Meetings
Our FRG has started doing theme meetings. Have any FRG's that you've been in do that? If so what themes did you do?

I am the FRG Leader for our unit, and we are holding a Spring/Easter-themed FRG Meeting in late March.
We plan on doing an easter egg hunt for the kids and to make easter crafts to send our soldiers. I am psyched! I think it's going to be REALLY cute! |

I am new to leading, and I have never heard of themed meetings, but it sounds like an awesome plan, especially since my unit has a ton of children in it!

We had a few learning nights. We had a guest speaker from Fleet and Family come and go over the allowances and extra pay you will receive when you have a deployed spouse, and other financial issues. It was very informative. We also had a night where a representative from Navy Relief Society came to talk about the things they offer. Both were a pot luck dinner.

I know ours just did... the CO of the command put an all call out for people to go... and then put the Alfa 6 on everyone in Alfa Company. (no i didn't misspell Alfa... I have no clue why they speel it this way instead of Alpha) |

I am waiting on our date for our next FRG meeting and it going to plan for August Potluck...I am thinking of making the theme a summer flair...salads and sandwiches.

We had the total opposite when they were deployed, no one wanted to come except for a few people. It was sad because the few were my best friends in the unit. We did have a a great meeting/g2g. We decided for the month of August, it was also the 12 month of them being deployed too, to have a birthday meeting. We had birthday hats, cakes, cupcakes, decorations and all. It actually turned out great since alot of the spouses and family had big birthdays ie 21, 30, 40 and even 50 that were missed or not really celebrated.
