My friend suggested I sell it to one of the many, MANY cash for gold places that are in my area. lol. I might find a pawn shop or something. I really just don't want to have it anymore.

Can I suggest that for NOW you put it away. Don't be so quick to trash things. You MIGHT regret it. Maybe put it in a box or ask your friend to hold it for you for a while.

I'll think about it. It just feels like such a lie. He gave it to me saying that I would always have his arms around me no matter where we were. And that's obviously not true.

ETA: I will keep (although put away) the hook bracelet he gave me that is also reminiscent of the VI

I know it does right now. I am only speaking from experience. I'm not saying NEVER get rid of it, just don't get rid of it out of anger.

I know you are really hurt and I get not wanting anything to do with it, but give yourself a little time, first. It's rarely good to make hasty decisions from a place of grief.

Tuck it in a box in the back of a drawer and forget about it for a while.
