DD's school gets first runner up in Competition

Last night was their biggest competition of the year. Schools from West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky came here at Marshall University. Out of 38 bands, we got 2nd place overall! Our main rival, Cabell Midland won Grand Champion by less than 1 point


We have 4 Grand Championships this year out of 6 competitions and lost out to them both times..... they are good though, and really creative. One of my closest and oldest friends sat with me last night and screamed her head off all night for DD and her DD who is drum major for CM! Its all good, but they really wanted the pizza party that was promised if they scored higher than CM. I think they deserve it anyway....

We will get more practice than them now, because we are playoff bound and they are not!

I miss marching band competitions...I always hated it when we lost a place by like 0.03 points or anything less than 1. Congrats to your schools band and your DD. That is really great!!

I too miss marching band and the competitions.It was always so much fun. I just miss marching in general. Congratulations!

I miss band lol. I was colorguard captain (yes you may laugh and call me names now ) and we got 2nd place at Giants Stadium my senior year...but we won Best Auxilliary which is the guard. That made me so proud.
