Lakenheath RAF in England
So here is the latest...we are going to be in Lakenheath by the end of the summer ....we are getting married next month and luckily Barksdale is actually helping us alot with the necessary paperwork.....were not going to have much of a honeymoon because we want to get everything done and settled so when everything is finished the only thing left to do is pick a place to live....so if the are any other SO's that are at Lakenheath that would like to get together and do something when I finally get there it would be awesome to get to know some of you....well until later...I will keep everyone updated on everything..hope to talk to you all very soon.

Thats great! Hope to see both of you around here very soon. I am at RAF Lakenheath and I have wanted to come to England since I was a little girl so for that to come true for me and not only that but ITS OUR FIRST BASE!!! We just got here about 6 months ago with 3 1/2 years left. It is definitely an experience I will cherish forever.

I am so excited...do any of you have children? If so maybe our children could have a play date....I am so worried that the girls are going to have problems adjusting they are 3 and 5 and so happy and easy going but I worry about the culture shock!

My girls are 8 and 5 but my oldest wanted to stay in the states cuz she likes her school so they are both there. There are a few ladies in the group I told you about that have kids. Guess the culture shock would depend if you plan on sending them to school on base or British schools. I hear the british schools are good but they teach things differently, plus how certain things are spelled in the US they spell different here, for example: color-colour, or favorite-favourite, just things like that.

Congrats on the orders to Lakenheath! My husband and I have been here almost 4 years with a little over 2 left to go and I have no desire to ever leave! The only kids I haver are furry and four legged but I would love to get together anyway when you get here.
