Sending care pacages to a carrier...

DB is getting ready to leave, so I want to send him a package right away so he can get it shortly after he gets there (hopefully...) Hes not sure what his address is, but he gave me one that just sounds weird. Do all the guys on the ship have the same address, just with their name on top instead?
Also, since this is my first ever package to send, what do I do about custom forms and stuff? I really am clueless. Thanks for any help ladies!

if he is attatched to the ship then yes they will all have just about the same addy. If he is with a squadron then it will be slightly different with a unit number and possible a shop number or name.

There should be a division too. For example, when I was on the Lincoln, my addy was

Quick tip that I found out through another site. You can get free packaging from the US Post Office. They will send flat rate boxes, a big roll of tape, customs forms etc. You just need to pay for the postage for the package you are sending.

You just have to call (800) 610-8734 and press 1 and then 1 again. Tell them you need a military care package kit. They will send all the packaging stuff to your home. Its works out really nice.

If you can find out his department/division , it'll get to him much faster. A carrier has upwards of 6,000 people when deployed, and if it's just his name and the carrier, you have no guarantee he'll get it. At least find out a department if you can.

ok, I already have the boxes, I called that number...so great! And about the address, I dont have whatever that is...division. How will we find out? Should he already know, or will one be assigned to him? I have no idea about this military stuff, if my ignorance hasnt shown through already

What does he do? His department & division are based on his job. If he's already stationed on the ship, he has a department and division already.

Hes an air traffic controller...hes not on the ship yet, hes flying out to meet them, so do you think he might not have one yet?
