I have sent packages both by priority and by standard. I discovered that there really isn't much (if any) difference in the time it takes for DF to get my packages, no matter what type of shipping I use. So all of us (his friends and me) started using standard rate. It has taken anywhere from 10 to 14 days for him to get them. The problem is not our post offices...which is why priority rate doesn't really matter much. Once it gets to Iraq, it depends on the roads, what's going on in the general area, etc. The post office only gets it to the APO. After that, it's the military's responsibility....which is why the time it takes to get to the men can vary so much...and why priority mail doesn't make as much difference as if we were shipping stateside.
