    Care Packages

    Advertisements
For those who send care packages overseas - do you use the USPS APO/FPO flat rate boxes or do you just use a normal box? Or what have you found is the best way to send care packages?

Flat rate, definitely. Also, just ask for multiple custom slips ahead of time, that way you can fill it out at home and not be rushed at the counter.

Absolutely flat rate. You can even go online and order the boxes + customs forms for free! That's what I did so I had a stockpile to use during my ex's deployment.

OP sent me an email asking for more info so figured I'd post it here so everyone else has it. You can get free shipping supplies from USPS by either walking into any Post Office or ordering them online here - https://store.usps.com/store/results...0v8v?Nrpp=1000

They do also have a military kit that comes with a few different sizes of boxes, tape, forms, etc. I personally just ordered a 10-pack of the large flat rate boxes and a pack of the customs forms.

Flat rate for APO/FPO for sure. Go on USPS.com and order a pack for free so you have them at home to pack.
