    Cookies in the CP?

    Advertisements
This might sound silly, but can I send baked goods in a care package? I thought about sending cookies or something else homemade and not in a package, but I didn't know if it would still be good when it got to my boyfriend in Kuwait.

    Is this a bad idea?
Anything I should know before I send something??

Yes you can! A lot of people do it! He will love it! DB has never been deployed (yet.....hopefully never but that is wishful thinking) so I am not sure what you should know before you send it.

Yep. I sent them to DH all the time when he was in Iraq. I would zip lock them and put them in Tupperware and he said they were still good when they got to him.

I've sent cookies before too, in the plastic semi-disposable tupperwares you would buy at like Target or the grocery store. Make sure the box is full or use bubble wrap so that aren't bouncing around in the box.

Yes you can. Keep in mind that it gets super hot over there so things can melt in the package before it gets to him.

This is true for just about anywhere. When I was overseas, my dad would send me cookies stacked in a pringles can. Worked great!

Yes this! DH would get them sometimes a lot later than expected and he still said they were delicious (although he will eat just about anything )

If you're unsure of how long it'll be before they'll receive their care packages (even a rough guestimate) you can put a slice of bread in the bag with the cookies and that sometimes will keep them a bit fresher. I tried to send dh some cake in a jar while he was deployed, but by the time he got them, they had all burst because of the heat.

DH: Thank you. ME: For what, babe? DH: For being you.
